Christmas

Christmas in our new home was wonderful. We had some friends over for Christmas eve and day. We had a great time with them. Playing games, making home made pizza Christmas eve, reading the Christmas Story, and of course Twas the Night Before Christmas. Yes, Goofy was our baby Jesus this year...not sure how that happened but it did. The kids loved everything they got and didn't really miss the things that they didn't get.

We've Moved!

We officially moved into our new home yesterday! What a wonderful feeling...to be moved into "our home"!!! I didn't get too many pictures with how busy I was but I got this wonderful one of the kids. We had to take their beds apart the night before we moved so I had put Ryan to sleep on his own bed and then moved him to my bedroom floor and then the two older kids went to sleep on my bed to be moved to their floors once we were done working in their rooms. We went to move them so we could go to bed and this is what we found. All three sound asleep but laying on top of one another.

We need to give a huge thanks to all our friends and family who helped us. Grandma Bertasso came up and made it possible for us to be ready to move. (It is a lot harder to move when you are pregnant, I had forgotten this.) She packed my entire kitchen on Friday and then unpacked it in the new house on Saturday. She put together food storage shelves in the basement, and installed blinds. We also got a house warming gift of a new table and chairs...one that our family can actually fit around. Uncle Andrew and Aunt Jess also came up to help us with the packing and taking furniture apart and putting it back together the next day. Unlce Ryan came and helped us move along with Derrick and his wife, and then of course some awesome guys from Willowbrook ward. We also celebrated Hanuka. It is Bertasso family tradition to have Hanuka dinner on the first night of Hanuka...since this was Thursday before we moved it was not going to happen so we had Hanuka Sunday night with Grandma, Andrew and Jess, and our family. We had potato latkee's, homemade applesauce, ham (yes, I know that's not kosher), and then read the story of Hanuka and played Dradle. The kids had a blast...although we are all conviced that either grandma cheats or has been practing her spins since she won the whole pot about 12 turns in a row :).

Thanksgiving

Since we are moving in less then two weeks there was no way I was attempting Thanksgiving on my own this year. When we started house hunting and getting closing dates figured out Grandma and Papa Bertasso invited us to spend the weekend in Provo. The kids were thrilled. They love sleeping in the grandkid room there and spending time with their cousins and grandparents. All the way down Ryan kept saying Papa. It was pretty fun. (Unfortonately in the rush to close on our house the day before we left and trying to get ready for everybody to leave I forgot my camera, so there are no pictures to accompany this post) We went to a BYU basketball game with 4 cousins, Grandma and papa, 2 uncles, and 1 aunt. The kids had a blast although Ryans favorite part was climbing up and down the bleachers. We had second Thanksgiving on Saturday since Uncle Nate and his family weren't there for the first. Uncle Andrew joined us for second Thanksgiving too. Dad and Papa went to the Utah vs BYU football game and we all watched on TV to see who was going to win the bragging rights this year...good thing it was BYU :)

House Closing

We closed on our house today. It is pretty excited...minus all the signatures required :) After so many years of waiting and having to depend on landlords to take care of things it is now our baby. The kids are thrilled to have their own space and look forward to helping us choose the yard and colors of our house inside. What a glorious Thanksgiving gift for us!

Our Big News!

Hi friends and family. We just wanted to share with you something exciting. We will welcome baby number 4 sometime around May 5th. That means I am 14 weeks right now! The kids are trilled and have decided to share name ideas with us---Matthew thought that Goofy or Mickey would be a good idea, Abigail want Sleeping Beauty or Cindrella. It is pretty funny...especially when I say "Sorry, No".

Halloween

Our kids had a blast this year for Halloween. Matthew had to be Harry Potter. He was so happy. When we were trick or treating he walked in front of us singing a song about being Harry Potter. It was so funny. Abigail was Sleeping Beauty, the costume she got for her birthday, we curled her hair and she insisted on wearing her princess shoes which she learned was not good for walking from house to house :). Ryan was our little pirate. It was fun to hear him say "Arg". He was upset if the candy was put in his bucket and not in his hand, although he didn't want to eat it...just hold it. They were so fun.
